Q: I cannot attend the race. What are my options? Can I get a refund?
A: Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for any reason. However, we have five options for you to consider:

  1. Switch to a Virtual Race: Have your race swag mailed to you for $15 (per person) and run/walk anywhere you’d like.

  2. Have a Friend Pick Up Your Swag: A friend can pick up your swag at packet pickup or on race day, allowing you to run/walk anywhere you want.

  3. Transfer Your Entry: You can sell or give away your entry to a family member or friend at no additional cost.

  4. Defer to 2026: Defer your entry to next year’s race for $25 (available until June 6, 2025).

  5. Donate Your Registration Fees: Donate your entry fee to the Hancock County Trails!

Q: When is Packet Pickup?
A: Early packet pick up is on Friday, June 6 at Wooden Bear Brewing, 21 W. North Street in Greenfield, from 4:00 - 7:00pm. Race day packet pick up starts at 6:30 am on Saturday, June 7 at Depot Street Park

Q: Are there water stops on the 5K and Half Marathon courses?
A: Yes, there are two water stations on the 5K (miles one and three) and five water stations on the half marathon (miles one, three, four, six and eight) . Some stops will also have full water bottles available. You are welcome to carry a bottle with you until the next stop but must dispose of all bottles in trash cans or recycle bins.

Q: Will the race still happen if it’s raining or storming?
A: Yes! The race will continue as planned. Weather conditions will be monitored by local Emergency Management.

Q: Can my kids register for the 5K or Half Marathon?
A: Yes, kids are welcome to participate in both the 5K and Half Marathon races! Children 10 and under can participate in the half marathon for $60 or the 5K for $20.

Q: Is the course stroller-friendly? Can I push a stroller?
A: Yes, the course is stroller-friendly. Please be courteous to runners who are aiming for faster times.

Q: Is the race dog-friendly? Can I bring my dog?
A: Sorry, not at this time. Please leave your pets at home :)

Q: Does the half marathon have a time limit?
A: The Half Marathon has a time limit of 4 hours. If you fall behind the trail vehicle, you may catch a ride. After this point, traffic cones and volunteers will no longer be on the course, and you will be responsible for navigating on your own.

Q: Where can I park?
A: Street parking is free and plentiful, there are also free parking lots near Depot Street Park. Click here to view a parking map of downtown Greenfield.

Q: Can I walk the race?
A: Yes, you can walk the 5K—there is no time limit. However, the Half Marathon has a time limit of 4 hours. If you fall behind the trail vehicle, you may catch a ride. After this point, traffic cones and volunteers will no longer be on the course, and you will be responsible for navigating on your own.

Q: Are there Half Marathon awards?
A: Yes, awards will be given to the top three finishers in the men’s and women’s division, based on overall time. We will also have awards for age bracket winners.

Q: Will the age group awards be mailed?
A: No, all awards must be picked up during the awards announcement. Be sure to check the race results before you leave. If you do not pick up your award, there will be a fee to have it mailed to you, approximately $10-$15.
